Summary
The first time Flame saw him, it was on the battlefield. They were both adorned in Zam Empire netherite, although his had a strange insignia carved into the midnight and gold chestplate Flame couldn’t make out in the rush of battle. He wielded a mace, a novelty for this server, and a faint purple hue rippled over it, clearly enchanted.
Deep violet collided with black cloth, and, against his will, Flame could feel himself grinning. This man was powerful, unlike anyone he had ever fought before. The other man tilted his head in response, eyes stony and tinged with curiosity. For a moment, the rest of the world was silent.
It was just them and an unspoken challenge.

Tommy wasn’t crazy.
He knew he wasn’t, there was no way his mind was making all of this shit up, that it was all some big coincidence. But it didn’t fucking help that one one seemed to believe him.
(Or: Tommy has a stalker, Phil and Techno don't believe him, so he decides the only option is to run away to his estranged brother in LA who achieved overnight success with his indie band, Lovejoy. Go figure.)

Dream sighed, and Tommy knew it was the ‘I’m-done-with-your-shit’ sigh. He could remember hearing it from the matron at the orphanage, from the teachers when he went to school, and, ok, so maybe he’s heard it from every adult he’s ever spoken to, but that’s beside the point. And, actually, it’s not really not fair for Dream to be annoyed at him when he didn’t even start the conversation! What an asshole!

Red—something in Jason’s brain dubs the girl as so—laughs as a response to whatever the bartender had said, a single tingling sound that has an undertone of huskiness to it. Upon the sound, Jason’s body goes rigid. He’d recognize that laugh anywhere. It’s a sound that he hears all too often when belts, buckles, and bat symbols and are put aside for a night. Or when it’s just the two of them on a nondescript rooftop, the smell of smoke from Jason’s cigarette clinging onto Tim’s uniform like a permanent stain.
