He slipped out the glass doors and into the pitch black night. No stars any more, no moonlight, even the artificial lights barely made a dent.
The heavy meal stuck to his bones. He was definitely warmer now, but he felt weighed down and sluggish. This at least was his excuse for missing the tell tale sound of footsteps through the bushes.
Lark has been living any place safe enough to rest and hunting down the supernatural monsters that spring up all over San Dimas for a while now. He wishes it wasn't necessary, but someone has to do it.
