Yes it is for most countries. The spying doesn't have anything to do with it. Social media in general is the worst source of misinformation and indoctrination in most countries. Fox News isn't counted as News channel by like every country outside of the US. It's insane that it exists but the world isn't the US. Though to be fair I didn't think of the US when writing my comment. Still you can find reliable news source etc. in the US too.
