Summary
Val heaves with a laugh and Loki welcomes his own. Ecstasy drowns them. It feels picturesque. His mind conjures a world wherein the amulet never leaves his neck, until it fuses into his skin, into his soul, sinking deeper and deeper until he and it are inextricable to a molecular level. Midday warms his face, snowmelt trickling, as Val speaks her well-wishes and eventual goodbye.
Loki waves her off and prances cheerfully down the street, stopped several times along the way by a bustle of, “I love your necklace!” and, “Wow, that’s a big emerald,” and, “Where’d you buy that?” and the occasional cry of, “Never take it off!” It feels as if reliving his olden days as King, wearing Odin’s face and serviced as pleased, worshiped not as a prince but as Allfather. It’s intoxicating.

Summary
One of the dining room chairs scrape linoleum, creaking under Loki’s sudden weight. A rhythmic tapping against wood ensues. “I don’t need medicine,” Loki says. “Haven’t I made it clear enough? I told you I’m not sick, and you said you believed me. We’re beyond our days of betrayal.”
Yeah, right. Mobius turns to look at him and double-takes. In the harsh kitchen lights, his skin almost glows from the pallor. Terrible was an understatement. He looks ghoulish.
“What? You’re staring again,” Loki says.
Mobius bites the inside of his cheek. “Are you sure you’re feeling alright?”

It’s because of you that we still exist. You did that, now let someone else take the wheel before you crash. And don’t act like it’s not coming, because I can see it from a mile away.”
“You—“ The look on Loki’s face is nothing short of devastating. He struggles for a moment. “Really?”

He closes his eyes and feels himself spinning, tense as the skin of a new drum. Eventually Thor taps his face and says, “Breathe.”
Loki opens his eyes. Looks at the wound, no longer filled with glass, then sucks in a breath. It’s a little easier, but his stomach is on fire and his ears have started ringing again. Oh, that’s a lot of blood. Oh gods. It’s fairly gushing out of him, trickling over his leathers, pooling on the dirt. His face smooths in dread and Thor’s expression isn’t much different.
“Stark, I need you to respond. Right now. We have an issue,” Thor says into his earpiece.

Abaddon isn’t a demon, he’s a child raised in a cult and told his whole life that someday he would reach his true potential and his real form. He was rescued from the cult, but he’s been hospitalized ever since with severe PTSD and religious psychosis. No one has been able to get through to him yet, but Katherine has just been assigned to him as his new trauma therapist, and there might be hope for him after all.
