She’s investigating the people who might have anything to do with it. The avengers are the most obvious links, but there are dots in her reports, some anomaly she can't pinpoint.One of them is the shocking contact she found on Natasha's private phone, her phone that's used only for close friends, friends like Barton and Bruce. An unknown number belonging to a cell that no longer works, called multiple times sometimes for hours.
Yelena never expected to end up here, tracking the phone who used to have that number.

This time, when Yelena's brows crinkle, it’s in disbelief. "Do you really think that?"
"Think what?"
"What you said," she snaps, tugging in a breath. Her body feels taut with tension now. Yelena drops her hands and crosses them against her chest once more, taking it as her opportunity to look away from him. She mutters, "Never mind."
"That you’re beautiful?" Peter brow cocks up as he searches for clarification. She refuses to look at him. He chuckles almost incredulously. "Of course I do," he says, shaking his head. "I think you’re beautiful."
Yelena doesn’t look at him, eyeing his bookshelf with an unnatural amount of interest. It has too much Lego. "No one’s called me that before."
