Summary
It had been nearly three weeks since Dennis had last had any part of Robby on his body outside the times Robby would unconsciously rest his hand on the back of Dennis’ neck or between his shoulder blades. A tease, that's what Dr Robby was. A goddamn infuriatingly attractive tease.
And he's about to make it Dennis problem.

Summary
Jack gritted his teeth together before he placed a palm on the thin wood and gently pushed it open.
And there was Robby, back against the wall and legs splayed out in front of him, palms resting limply on his thighs. He was fully dressed, still in his scrubs. His skin was an odd combination of pale yet flushed; his cheeks were a concerning shade of rosy and the bags under his eyes were darker than Jack had ever seen. And that was saying something.

Summary
“You know,” Paddy murmured and smiled softly down at the sand shifting beneath his boot. “You're different from him.”
Out of the corner of his eye he watched as Eoin froze. He let out a little chuckle but Paddy could hear the tightness of it.
“Different from who?”
“Eoin.”

Summary
Dennis wakes in the middle of the night to some noise or shift in the air. Robby's home is already unusually quiet to Dennis, so much so Dennis has trouble sleeping after years of surfing couches, short term rentals in cramped, dormitory-style rooms, his car, and the occasional motel.
He doesn't move, trying to figure out what's different, if something is missing, like when the power goes out and everything feels strangely silent. He runs through his mental checklist: he turned off the oven, checked all the windows, locked up tight, and armed the security alarm. Dennis hasn't forgotten anything.
Dennis doesn't know how it feels to be abandoned — his family still clings to him, even though he's tried for years to shake parts of them off — but he does know what it's like not to feel worthy. To be in pain, to be afraid, to not know if the one thing he needs most is also the thing that'll end up killing him.
Robby comes home.

Summary
“Let me get you home.”
Whitaker blinks up at him. “My home?”
“Yes Dr Whitaker.”...
He can hear Whitaker stumbling behind him. Probably due to Robby’s haste rather than any of the alcohol he’d consume. “I’m sorry about Trinity, Robby, she was drunk and too excited because she was going home with-”
“Don’t mention it, Whitaker.”
He doesn’t take the hint this time. “No because she ruined the mood, which sucks because I was having a great time with-”“Seriously, shut up.”

Summary
“‘If you’re raised with an angry man in your house, there will always be an angry man in your house. You will find him even when he is not there.’”
The well-known quote Dennis murmured was somehow louder than any scream the two had heard in their entire lifetime.
They were both still, their breathing heavy, when Dennis straightened his back, hands bracing the edge of the counter as he glanced at Jack and Robby’s direction.
“I am the angry man in our house,” Dennis confessed, his smile sad, and the look in his eyes had the two on the cusp of crumbling to their knees.
OR Dennis Whitaker has a difficult time taking care of himself, including learning healthy coping mechanisms, leading him down a spiral. Robby and Jack—already interested in the medical student—decided it’s time they take things into their own hands.

Summary
“Mike.”
It was just his name, but Robby froze immediately.
Because he knew that voice.
Shit.
He’d been so careful.
“Well, isn’t this a nice surprise.”
