Summary
Irina Orlova (formerly Rozanova), a woman who survives a suicide attempt and rebuilds her life after an abusive marriage. With Ilya at her side, she starts over, finds her way back to ballet, and becomes the kind of mother who will do anything to keep her son safe.
Long before Irina meets Shane Hollander, Ilya has already made his obsession clear. Shane is the hockey player he watches, talks about, and admires from a distance. Then, in the middle of winter, Shane ends up beside Irina on a flight to Moscow. Irina recognizes the chance for what it is. So she brings Shane to her son's restaurant and quietly lets fate do the rest.
What follows is Irina watching Ilya discover a new kind of joy, one that is not tied to food but to love.
