Scott realizes Avid has never celebrated Valentine’s Day. He needs to fix this at once.
I will leave this here on Ao3, only because I put effort into this and don’t want it to be lost. I don’t support AvidMc’s actions.

Man Sends Text To Wrong Group Chat, Accidentally Stops Apocalypse
Or, When a series of unfortunate texting errors combined with prying co-workers tears his reputation as a stone-cold professional to shreds, Jon says 'fuck it' and tries his hand at having friends, and, just maybe, saves the world a little in the process...also there are The Horrors. But mostly friends.
OR, Another (mostly) chat fic, in which I stay as close to canon as possible while making everything a little less doomed.

Summary
He’s heard the stories. He knows his mother wouldn’t take another step on land if she could help it, not anymore. It took a long time for him to feel comfortable walking alone on the beach without anticipating torches and pitchforks at his first footfall, skin-thieves and scoundrels looking to steal him away.
Martin’s supposed to avoid humans, but he’s never been great at resisting temptation. In the aftermath of a dreadful storm, he finds himself and his sealskin coat trapped in the home of his mysterious human crush, Jon.
Navigating treacherous waters of injury, confusion, and a budding relationship, Martin feels adrift — more like Jon than he knows — yet, together, in the most unexpected of places, with the most unexpected of people, they find themselves.

Summary
Jon was not a stranger to death.
He was an orphan raised by his elderly grandmother, he’d been to more funerals than he had weddings.
Death… death was undiscerning. Objective. First you were alive, and then you were not.
Simple.
Humans were the ones who made it messy, with their mourning and their loud, heavy grief. Burials and ceremonies and calla lilies.Sometimes, Jon wished it was just a matter of putting a body in the dirt and being done with it.
The last funeral he had been to was his grandmother’s. She was seventy nine. She died peacefully, in her sleep. And she would have hated that.Jon glanced down to the child sleeping beside him. Willa Briar. His first cousin, once removed.
This was her mother’s funeral.
Jon adopts the daughter of his late cousin. This is complicated by the simple truth that he has no idea how to be a parent.
