"I don't understand..."
Robin had come here chasing a man — Felipe Garzonas, the son of a Spanish diplomat, accused of a recent string of rapes in the city — who had gone over the balcony, and they were high enough up that the fall could only be fatal. Now the man lay dead on the pavement far below. Jason was sixteen and world-weary, not six and naïve; he understood the mechanics of death all too well by now.
"Robin, report. What don't you understand?"
Or, there's something different about Jason. He just wasn't aware of how different he was — until now.

A pyrokinetic and psychokinetic are working to save a world engulfed in flames and ruled over by a terrible monster. The one eternally enveloped in flames is always hard on themselves and prone to fiery outbursts. Their psychic companion is much more approachable, a hero to the people of this long destroyed planet. Despite this being a tale you've surely heard before, the roles of our heroes have been somewhat swapped. Cats may fly and hedgehogs burn blue.
