An epilogue.
After the Keeper escapes the cycle of turning back time and finally and for good leaves the lighthouse, he makes it to the shelter Chief's started running. He's got plenty to recover from after his ordeal, both in physical injuries and old and new mental wounds. Part of his mind is still in the horrors of the lighthouse, there's a profound weight on his heart, and he's got a fever from the strain that just won't break. It's a good thing he's not alone. He's got someone who believes in him.
Chief doesn't really understand what the Keeper went through. No one really knows what happened at that lighthouse. The horrors aside, being a man from his generation and having never really been close with anyone before, Chief isn't used to this thing of being open emotionally. He's just trying his best, in his own gruff way, to help the man who saved the harbor—to help his sick friend—while also organizing a relief effort.

The name lingered on his lips as if it had nowhere to go now but out of him. Illuga’s fingers curled once in the sand, and then all the strength drained from his body at once, as though the Abyss had waited until he was home-adjacent before finally taking its final toll. His breathing stuttered, his head tipped forward, and he collapsed fully into the shoreline with a faint exhale that disappeared into the sea wind.
The surf kept coming. The sky stayed bright. Nasha Town, with all its iron rails and scrap-built towers, waited beyond the border as if nothing had happened at all. And there, half-conscious in the salt-stung quiet, Illuga passed out with the name on his tongue, as though even in unconsciousness some part of him was still reaching for home.
