  1. Forgive my ignorance, but will this affect the mp3s/files themselves, or just the AO3 player?

I bought shared hosting to upload podfic, but the company I'm with doesn't allow for LetsEncrypt certificates to be installed (I'm with Namecheap, and I spent a day trying with no dice). I'm not sure how to reconcile this if this will be an issue with the actual file as well?

    1. If nothing else, you could upload it to Dropbox until you find a company that lets you use the needed certificates.

      1. I could, but even though the work is transformative, I don't want to run the risk that it could flag on their end - either for copyright or the number of downloads.

Plus I've already paid for hosting ;)

      Hi, Subsequent!

This will only affect the player -- it should be fine to keep using HTTP URLs for the files.
