Summary
Casey isn’t wearing pants. He’s wearing a baggy shirt—Lars’s shirt—and his underwear are short enough that it’s almost like he isn’t wearing anything underneath it at all.
Lars can feel his cheeks heat, and he squeezes his eyes shut for a moment. He looks at the ceiling, and then back at Casey. He tries not to linger too much on Casey’s legs, which are usually bundled up in jeans or sweatpants, even when Casey is asleep. (They’re muscular. And defined. But they’re slimmer than Lars’s, and he could probably even wrap his hands around them and almost reach across. That thought puts a weird feeling in his stomach.)
“Aren’t you cold?” Lars asks. He thinks his voice is sort of high. He stands up, goes to the thermostat, turns it up a few degrees. Casey is always cold.

Summary
Lars yawns. He stretches his arms in front of him, then rubs his hands over his face. He turns his head, just a bit, to see Driver next to him. Driver always sleeps all curled up, facing Lars’s back.
He’s tense, even when he’s asleep. Lars can see it in the lines of his face, how his shoulders hunch up to his ears. Lars wishes he could smooth it all away, wrap him up, make him calm.
He doesn’t understand how anyone hurt Driver. How could you ever want to hurt him? Why wouldn’t you want to keep him, keep him safe, keep him all for yourself?

Summary
Lars likes Driver's gloves.
He likes the way they wrap themselves snugly around each and every one of Driver's fingers, likes the way they caress the palms and backs of his hands, hug the lithe lines of his wrists. He likes the way Driver's hands flex within them; the soft creaking of the worn leather is as soothing to Lars's ears as a masterfully crafted, cloying lullaby. Lars likes to watch him pull them on, the way his fingers wiggle and settle into their rightful place, ready to do a job.
Their job—other than to hold Driver's hands while he drives—is to touch.
