is goat meat delicious?

Summary:

And ironically, Kim Soleum's most humane part was his inability to resist his rawest, most intense desire—love.

Notes:

i gave in to solsah... i owe the whole thing to oomf keyarel my enabler, this song i listened to the entire week that birthed this idea (pag-ibig ay kanibalismo ii), and my failed chem exam that fueled me to write with hatred. i am not sorry for the grammatical errors and typos. thanks eveyrone.

Work Text:

“Saheon-ah, does it scare you?”

Yes. Baek Saheon was extremely scared at this moment.

Seeing how unresponsive he was, and maybe Baek Saheon's prayers had finally worked, Kim Soleum inched farther away from him.

Kim Soleum, since the day they first met, was never a normal person. It was as if there was nothing he feared, nothing he couldn't do. To Baek Saheon, he was someone he needed to avoid because his danger senses told him to. Yet somehow, he always found himself walking into Kim Soleum's radius.

Although a distance separated them on the couch, Kim Soleum was still holding his hand. His eyes were as hazy as ever, still looking crazy, but there was something strange in it. A less subtle desire.

And when those eyes looked at Baek Saheon, there was nothing he could do aside from looking back at the abyss in Kim Soleum's irises. He was locked, pinned down with no way to escape the man, like a target to its predator. That was their relationship.

Since they started living together as roommates and coworkers, Baek Saheon had always acted as a good subordinate to his supervisor—well, perhaps not always. Besides…

Who knows what that lunatic might do to him if Baek Saheon showed that he was actually, really, really scared of Kim Soleum?

Treading the thin line between annoying and amusing Kim Soleum was actually beneficial for him. One, because he's a supervisor, a higher-up he could suck up to. Two, he can strike a deal with him (and hopefully won't end up getting scammed back again). And three, Baek Saheon did not want to admit it, but he just liked pissing the man off.

It felt nice to see a change of reaction in his face that was always expressionless.

And it felt nice to Baek Saheon that he could actually do something to that seemingly impenetrable bastard Kim Soleum.

“Saheon-ah?”

Could he please stop calling his name like that?

“You're a little distracted.”

Kim Soleum pulled his hand, then gently held it next to his face. Baek Saheon shivered at the touch, but he couldn't pull away. Not when Kim Soleum was looking intensely at him, not when the grip on his hand felt like an intimate caress.

“Saheon-ah, aren't you going to answer?”

Ah.

Kim Soleum was getting annoyed.

Baek Saheon answered. “I'm sorry, sir.”

He could see his finger, with a line of red on the tip. Baek Saheon had slipped and ended up getting cut. It was just a tiny, shallow wound, yet Kim Soleum had completely lost his reason.

Upon seeing the blood trickle from the thin cut, Baek Saheon was about to wipe it off his shirt, but Kim Soleum had grabbed his hand.

“Y-you!”

That lunatic licked his finger. His wound, in particular.

“Well?”

And he did it again.

His finger, wedged in Kim Soleum's lips, was wet with saliva. Even though only his finger was hurt with a tiny cut, Baek Saheon's entire body was numb with feeling.

Feeling a firm pressure and sting on the cut that hasn't healed yet, Baek Saheon flinched and pulled his hand back, but Kim Soleum wouldn't let go.

Instead, he bit hard on Baek Saheon's finger.

“Hey!”

Kim Soleum's lips parted. “Hey?”

Crap. He looked away, then spoke in a careful tone. “I mean, supervisor.”

“Could you please let go of my hand now… sir?”

Baek Saheon has no idea how he can stay another second with his finger inside Kim Soleum's mouth. He was going crazy. Mental. Maybe he was becoming more like Kim Soleum—a horrifying thought.

“Why?”

“S-Supervisor, it's unsanitary. And uh, my hand is dirty and—”

Of course, Kim Soleum shut his nonsensical reasons down.

“Who cares?”

The way Kim Soleum stared at him was hypnotizing. He looked at Baek Saheon like he was studying him, like an interesting specimen. And that he was going to dissect Baek Saheon the way a mad scientist would.

“I told you before, right?”

The words he had heard from Kim Soleum once echoed again.

“Saheon-ah, you’re an interesting person.”

“... Thank you, sir?”

“Do I still have to spell what I meant?”

He evaded the stare that was intent to entrance him. Baek Saheon knew if he let his guard down even for a second, Kim Soleum would somehow find a way to trap him. He had done that before and there was nothing that’s stopping him from repeating it. Baek Saheon could never stop him once he set his eyes on something—on him.

Kim Soleum audibly sighed, perhaps his patience running short.

“Saheon-ah, I’m interested in you.”

Baek Saheon’s eyes trembled. If Kim Soleum says it so directly, there was no way for him to ignore his feelings and pretend there was nothing wrong.

Having lived an uncanny childhood, he had developed a personality that prioritized his survival first and foremost. Baek Saheon knew he was never a good person. A good person was someone who helped others, even at the cost of their own benefit; he was someone who would not hesitate to be selfish if it meant living.

Everything he had done toward Kim Soleum was for his own sake, even if it often ended up being more disadvantageous for him because his supervisor somehow always, always knew.

He was aware that his selfish actions had long outweighed and erased the Samaritan within him, but does his karma have to come in the form of that psychopath’s interest?

It was unfortunate that Baek Saheon caught his eye.

And it was truly unfortunate that it was Baek Saheon whom he ended up desiring.

Baek Saheon trembled upon his touch, his gaze, no matter how much he tried to be gentle. It was painfully obvious that Baek Saheon feared him, even after hiding himself under a more humane mask named Agent Roe.

Kim Soleum knew he was barely human. His love was too twisted, too overwhelming to ignore that he felt inhuman. It was repulsive to think that a human could bear the thought of devouring another human by calling it love.

But he could never bury his carnal desire for too long. It was too difficult to keep it locked within himself, not when the target of his obsession was just an arm reach from him.

From the moment he found Baek Saheon, the moment “Baek Saheon” and “Agent Viper” were no longer texts but a human in his eyes, Kim Soleum knew there would come a day when his desire would be out of his control.

And ironically, it was the most human part of him.

Weren't humans creatures who cannot resist love—the manifestation of their desire at its rawest form?

Kim Soleum felt like a dying man in a desert who had just discovered an oasis upon seeing the wound on his finger that he immediately acted on his instincts. However, a drop of Baek Saheon's blood just made his thirst worse. It felt even more unquenchable once he had tasted the delicacy he might never get another chance to have.

His desperation led him to bite Baek Saheon's finger, hoping for another drop of blood to fall into his tongue.

It was a new low for him.

Kim Soleum had never sank that deep, ever since he had seen him pluck his own eye and almost begged on his knees to have it, just for a taste of Baek Saheon's flesh.

“It's alright if you're scared, Saheon-ah.”

Baek Saheon immediately shook his head. “I-I'm not scared, sir!”

Lies.

But… if he said it so intensely despite his shivering shoulders and unfocused eyes, it's only right for Kim Soleum to pretend he doesn't know Baek Saheon's fears.

“If you say so.” Kim Soleum smiled. A clear foretelling that something bad will happen to Baek Saheon.

And since he never explicitly said that he was scared…

“Then it's fine if I taste you a little more, right?”

“Huh?”

“I won't take a piece of you. I promise.”

Kim Soleum didn't give him any time to react and bit into Baek Saheon's finger.

This time, he sank his teeth deeper, more than enough to puncture the skin.

“Agh—!”

Blood flowed in Kim Soleum's mouth. This time, the taste of Baek Saheon's blood lingered longer in his tongue.

Ah.

This is the taste of Baek Saheon.

This is Baek Saheon.

Kim Soleum wanted to bite deeper, wanted to have more of him. He wanted Baek Saheon's flesh more than ever. Even a tiny piece of him would do. He craved his flesh so much, it's making him insane—like he isn't already.

All that his blood did to Kim Soleum was make his already overwhelming love more violent.

It's ugly and twisted.

But Kim Soleum's love was still love.

He held back from biting harder. He knew Baek Saheon would come to hate him even more should he take a piece of him. Kim Soleum has to be content with this.

“Fuck… That's enough.”

Baek Saheon let out a groan as Kim Soleum pressed even harder, as if squeezing every drop of blood he had from the wound he created.

As Kim Soleum let him pull his hand away, he watched Baek Saheon wipe his finger on his shirt, looking distraught.

“You don't understand, do you?”

Baek Saheon didn't answer, however he already knew what he wanted to say just from the scowl on his face.

Who would understand a psychopath’s actions?

Well, if Baek Saheon cannot understand it, he just has to make him understand.

Kim Soleum grabbed him by his chin and pulled him closer. His thumb pressed Baek Saheon's lower lip.

What should he do to make Baek Saheon understand his love?

There was one he knew. An action humans did to show their love.

Kim Soleum kissed him.

He watched as Baek Saheon widened his eyes in panic, and somehow ended up closing it as he pressed their lips harder. Whether it's because he didn't want to look at Kim Soleum or it's an involuntary reaction out of pleasure—Kim Soleum would rather think it's the latter.

Baek Saheon was visibly gasping for air as they kissed. His ears were almost as red as his blood. When Kim Soleum's other hand mapped his neck, he felt the erratic pulse beneath his skin.

He was certain now that Baek Saheon knew his love.

But he didn't understand how Kim Soleum loved yet.

“Mmhp—!”

His hand tightly held Baek Saheon's cheeks, opening up his mouth, making an entrance for his tongue. A guttural moan followed immediately; he must have tasted his own blood, from what lingered in Kim Soleum's mouth.

Kim Soleum knew him a little too well. Even if the Baek Saheon he knew in the Darkness Exploration Records and the Baek Saheon he met in this world had differences, one thing remained consistent.

He was a person who was desperate to live.

That's why he was certain Baek Saheon would never accept his love—because Kim Soleum's love will kill him.

Still, he wanted to show Baek Saheon his love.

It didn't matter if he didn't want to give him even a tiny piece of his flesh, Kim Soleum could just offer him the whole of his heart.

But it's too much to give his heart on their first kiss, isn't it? What if Baek Saheon ran away from him?

Should the day ever come when Baek Saheon finally wanted him, Kim Soleum would give himself with no hesitation. He'll even cut his body into pieces, present himself on a plate, and do his worst attempt at looking appetizing.

For now, Baek Saheon would receive just a tiny piece of him.

Kim Soleum bit his own tongue. While he was curious as to how Baek Saheon would take him in, it didn't matter for now; he had no other option but to accept Kim Soleum's blood and flesh.

The endearing metallic taste flooded the walls of his mouth. Baek Saheon couldn't get away, with Kim Soleum holding his jaw tightly.

With Baek Saheon secured in his grasp, Kim Soleum bit his tongue even harder—until a tiny chunk tore apart. Baek Saheon felt the unfamiliar piece of muscle in his mouth and immediately pushed Kim Soleum away, however, the clutch on his arm was too strong.

Kim Soleum continued to move his tongue, ignoring the electrifying numbness, until he was certain that Baek Saheon could do nothing except swallow

And he did.

Cough—!”

Kim Soleum, that freak, finally pulled away from him. And there was a rare satisfied look on his face that Baek Saheon extremely disliked.

He couldn't stop coughing, yet Kim Soleum only watched his pathetic figure suffer in the pain of choking from his blood.

His eyes lingered a little too long on Baek Saheon's face.

He was messy; Baek Saheon knew it too.

A mix of both their saliva and blood dripped on his mouth, leaving trails of red on his skin. It was honestly humiliating. It was Kim Soleum who bit his own tongue and bled so much, so why was it Baek Saheon who looked disgusting?

“Are you—Are you fucking crazy?”

“Saheon-ah, I thought you've long known the answer to that.”

Baek Saheon wiped the mess on his face with the back of his hand. “Crazy bastard.”

“Yes, this bastard is crazy for you.”

“Don't say that!”

Baek Saheon was truly interesting. Kim Soleum knew, even when he was retorting, he must be scared deep inside. He would mask that fear as hatred or something else, but he would never show fear in front of Kim Soleum.

It's because he's like this that Kim Soleum has fallen even deeper into the depths of hell for this man.

Kim Soleum took his hand. He gave Baek Saheon another kiss, only on his knuckles. Seeing how gentle he acted now after his psychopathic behavior earlier left Baek Saheon feeling an insane dissonance.

He was barely able to pull his hand back when he felt Kim Soleum lick him again—leaving a red stain on his skin.

“Saheon-ah, do your best at surviving.”

Fuck. He looked at Baek Saheon with longing eyes like he's not the one thinking of cutting him up, like he's not the leading threat in his life.

“If you die, I'll eat you.”

“Yes, supervisor. I'll stay alive.”

“I heard goat meat is delicious. Have you tried it?”

Kim Soleum always somehow managed to say scary things with a light tone and turn normal-sounding words into a threat.

“... I haven't.”

He let out a resigned smile. That psychopath seriously knew how to get under his nerves.

Baek Saheon was certain that never in his life would he accept his feelings, but… just looking at Kim Soleum's clear eyes, both his mind and heart couldn't deny it.

That lunatic’s love toward him was pure.

Notes:

solsah is genuinely so so interesting to me. when i first heard the song, i immediately associated it with them. cannibalism as a form of love and solsah made so much sense to me. kim soleum whose love kills, and baek saheon whose desperation to survive is stronger than anyone else... wow they are So Peak.
